Local Film "Adeela" Gets Ready to Shoot
Adeela is a short film that is revving up to go shoot as we speak. The story is short, to the point, and yet unbelievably moving
Adeela is a Muslim-American woman who grew up being influenced by two very different cultures. When she moves to a small suburban town, she catches the eye of a councilman's son, Aaron. Together, the couple push for Adeela to sing the national anthem at the town's 4th of July festival; much to the chagrin it's citizens.
"The goal of Adeela is to bring awareness to unmerited racism that has surrounded Islamic and Arab Americans over the last decade. This film is a call for change. We need to make this country a more habitable place for all citizens, and deliver on the promise of what this country was founded on, that all men are indeed equal, a statement in which no exception should be made."
The crew of Adeela is already working with the Huntington Beach Film Commission to search for potential locations.
