Weather Channel’s new television series, Lifeguard!, documents various rescue mission carried out by lifeguards up and down the coast of Southern California.

Adeela is a short film that is revving up to go shoot as we speak. The story is short, to the point, and yet unbelievably moving
Adeela is a Muslim-American woman who grew up being influenced by two very different cultures. When she moves to a small suburban town, she catches the eye of a councilman's son, Aaron. Together, the couple push for Adeela to sing the national anthem at the town's 4th of July festival; much to the chagrin it's citizens.

It seems like movies and TV shows with darker tones are trumping the happily ever after stories more and more. And I’m not saying that to be cynical or anything, I’m definitely a fan! There’s something about that sort of raw grittiness that keeps me on the edge of my seat (Dexter, anyone?).

Brian Barsuglia is a busy man. Not only is he the Chair of the English department and Moderator of the Filmmaking Club at a prestigious local high school, but he is the Creator and Event Director of the SoCal Film Festival – A festival which was named one of MovieMaker Magazine's 20 Festivals worth the entry fee.

We really are! Huntington Beach is known for many things, the largest of which being the surf culture (the City’s other name is Surf City USA) and playing host each summer to the US Open of Surfing. But savvy production companies know it for another reason: an excellent place to shoot.
